The rest of the weekend activities are still free this year. We're planning on doing more ticketed events in the future as the festival grows.
We're sure you'll enjoy the incredible artists in the song circles spread across the campground.
Songs From The Road Band is an Asheville, North Carolina based bluegrass supergroup featuring Mark Schimick (mandolin), Charles Humphrey III (bass), Sam Wharton (guitar), James Schlender (fiddle), and Gabe Epstein (banjo). The band takes flight with virtuosic picking, singing, and grammy award winning songwriting. Several of their most recent singles have gone to the top of the Bluegrass Today Grassicana chart. They have 6 studio albums available at all musical outlets.
I'd like to be clear why I'm not doing big stages, and what to expect from this festival. Every cent will go toward paying musicians and toward the Montrose city, pool, park, and campground, as well as next year's festival. We're encouraging you to come with your family and bring a tent, camp chairs, and acoustic instrument if you play.
There will be booths and art to wander around and get your bearings. Other than a Saturday ticketed event in Legion Hall, all the musicians will be walking around playing Camps. So even if you're not a musician, set up some extra chairs at your camp. Name your camp with a sign, "Camp [your home town]" and invite anyone with an instrument to stop n play.
Family, Friends, and Community are our priority! We want this festival to be as much about visiting and spending time with friends and family as music.
