The Road to Montrose

Artists, let us help you with your tour!!!! by getting on the road to Montrose, we hope to build a community for you to not only have easy contacts to fill dates in getting here, but we will direct our venues and festivals to you!!! We want to eliminate as MucH windshield time as possible as you come and experience South Dakota!!! This site should be easy to maneuver for both artists and venues to find each other....and we will do our VerY BesT to make playing the Montrose Music Festival a pleasant experience!!! Please send us a private message if there is any confusion, and check back often as this will be changing a lot as we add each artists tour schedule to and from Montrose.

NexT year...we're working toward a new idea in touring. We are planning on renting several tour vans in different areas of the country, and picking one singer/songwriter for each van. That artist will pick 2-3 artists they believe in and are comfortable traveling with. We will pay for the van rental, and gas for your "writers in the round" tour to Montrose and back, and help you book your road to and from Montrose!!!! Let's think about touring differently? I'm not asking you to do this year round, but we wanna try this idea of artists not having to drive multiple cars to the same destination. We as artists have SucH great community, let use each other to try something new???

Montrose has been building somewhat of a new community idea based on Pete Seeger's idea of block booking. Rather then everyone working so hard at doing there own thing. Join our Festival coop!!! lets save artists time, and countless hours of windshield time by working together? look through our lineup, and the road to and from Montrose. If we fit your schedule....join us, how ever it works for YOU!!! This experience is free at no charge to you unless you feel obligated to sponsor what we're doing. We already share advertising, volunteer staff, and organizers within three festivals in our area. we book a small percentage of the same artists so they can spend some Real time in our community through this block booking experience. You're NoT to far away to join in. check back often because we are slowly adding our artists tours, coming and going to the "Road To Montrose" book who you like, and let us add you to the road. the more that join....the less windshield time, the better use of fuel, room and board, venue advertising, as well as less weight on our artists!!! lets work together and provide more of a community experience  for our artists as there out there driving across our great country.
