Song circles will kick off spontaneously throughout the day. Some national acts will be in town early and start before the workday is over. Song circles can be found throughout the Montrose campgrounds. Song circles will continue until nearly daybreak each night.
Artists can sign up to perform three songs a piece. Stage hosted by Charlie Roth. Find us at the Dump Truck stage in the trees north of Camp Sioux River Folk Festival.
Song circles will start spontaneously again, mid to late morning and continue overnight until daybreak. There is likely to be less activity during our Saturday show.

This workshop is about expanding musical possibilities on the guitar – have you ever felt limited by having to play in standard tuning all the time (ie: hard chord fingerings, etc)? You hear other people using altered tunings and multiple capos and it sounds so good… well this workshop will introduce you to the magical world of multiple three string capos with altered tunings! The focus of the workshop is to begin to open up your musical thought processes to experimentation.
Learn from a seasoned professional who has played professionally since he was 14. Mark Stuart has toured extensively with notable artists such as Freddy Fender, Steve Earle, Joan Baez, and Steve Forbert. He's also performed as a duo act with his wife, Stacey Earle through the years.
This is one of our few events with a price. Please bring $35 with you.
We'll start at Camp Rhythm of the River and walk throughout the campground. Costumes and kazoos will be provided.
We'll have water guns and water balloons available for kids to cool off and have fun. Join us at the small pavilion by the ball field behind the merch booth.
Come pop GIANT bubbles and/or learn how to perform some cool hoola hoop tricks at Camp Rhythm of the River.
Learn the basics of the Texas-inspired honky-tonk/two-step. Come with or without a partner. Always fun. Join us in the Legion Hall.
A couple of our national acts will open our Country-Western show. Charlie Roth and his all star band will wrap us up.
This is one of our few ticketed events. Wristbands will cost $40 at the door. This year's wristbands are a USB wristband that you'll be able to plug into your computer. Each wristband will come pre-loaded with approximately 30 songs. The majority of our artists each donated a song for you to get a Montrose Music Festival sampler with your wristband purchase. The workshop will encourage you to try a new approach to lyrical and melodic writing. To embark on a more mischievous and playful journey throughout the songwriting process. Join us at my place cafe. This is one of our few priced events. Please bring $60. Lunch included.
Hosted by J. Wagner. He runs the Crooked Crow Songwriter's Retreat in the west TX desert which has been an annual event since 2011. As a songwriter, he has had his songs placed on multiple TV shows, commercials, and movies.
